Milpitas is located on the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay and part of the high tech Silicon Valley. The city's population is just over 70,000 (52% Asian, Caucasian 24%, Hispanic 17%, and African-Americans 3%). Milpitas is an affluent and well-educated community with an average household income of about $100,000. Milpitas is known as the "Crossroads of Silicon Valley" due to it's location between I-880 and I-680, SR 237, and a County expressway.
